Male Ballerinas

I just love the photo of the boys in their pink tutus. It is hard to tell if this was at a school or a dance troupe practicing at a private studio but it is obvious their mothers have been trying very hard to teach their sons to be feminine. What I mean is this does not look like a comedy skit as part of a school play, that would crush a child and make him intolerant towards girls. Instead by encouraging them to be feminine and dainty in front of an audience that applauds them they are being taught that this how boys should behave. This is a brilliant effort on their mother's part in bringing them up, this could never have happened when I was that young. The more mainstream this becomes the more other women will sign on and I do believe this movement has come at the right time when it is now unpopular to be against anyone in the LBGTQ community.

I totally agree, male femininity has to be applauded and not ridiculed. When I was young, neither mothers or fathers encouraged their sons to be ballerinas, the mother may but father say no can do. Today it is different, I’m sure of it, the future looks bright.

I agree completely.

Ballet is a 400-year old art form that was created for women, because acting was then considered a vulgar occupation that was beneath the dignity of a woman.

As George Ballanchine said, "Ballet is woman". Anyone who loves women also loves what they do.

Boys as early as age 8 or 9 are encouraged by team sport activities like American football and hockey, to be aggressive and be the superstar, win at all costs.
By contrast, girls' activities like ballet and gymnastics encourage personal development, and not 'winning' by bashing a competitor's face in.

I think team sports for boys should be banned, and courses like ballet should be mandatory. Stronger girls should be given the chance to dance male roles first before males are given the opportunity. Boys should compete to be boys in a world where girls are better boys than they are.

Ballerinas create their own world and communicate their feelings and experiences through movement. Boys communicate by shouting and creating disturbances. We need more of the former.

Conway,

You are more than quite correct in that the learning experiences of the sexes MUST BE REVERSED at an early age.   Females especially begin to learn at a far more rapid pace than males and data is showing that ifwhen both sexes receive input FEMALES absorb instruction far faster and better than malette counterparts.   Indication s are this shall even be true in physical development.   Such status of training still is given to the malette sex as if is their 'natural' bent.

Look for after truly equal expectations for the sexes to be offered that eventually FEMALES shall far advance past  Their opposites IN ALL AREAS OF ENDEAVOR - Intellectual, Social and YES -eventually the PHYSICAL! THEN the full total of known constructs of what was once so-called FEMALE and male shall be irrevocably and permanently reversed to what is really NATURAL!
