Remembering Mrs Silk
« on: June 22, 2024, 09:52:05 am »
Many years ago, when the internet was in its infancy and still powered by a Bunsen burner pinched from a school chemistry lab, there was a true pioneer of female led relationships (before they were a mainstream thing). Mrs Silk was an early adopter of the web to showcase her life with her sissy maids.

Over 25 years ago, I was bought a subscription to her site by my wife. It came with a couple of one 2 one phone calls with Mrs Silk herself. She was thrilled that my wife wanted to have one of the calls. She explained the expectations of a mistress, how sissy maids should dress and behave.

Mrs Silk became a reference point for us. For example “would Mrs Silk accept that” or “is this how Mrs Silk would dress”.  She was glamorous and took no nonsense. She was always surrounded by her maids, maids who properly worked for her not just pranced around.

All these years later, we still talk about Mrs Silk and her maids. A true pioneer and role model. Posting this for anyone who also remembers her and for those who have bumped into role models that have had long term influence on how they’ve developed.

I remember Mrs. Silk, a beautiful Lady and a true pioneer in feminising suitable males for domestic service. Way back in 1999 I spoke to Her about myself and She assessed me on Her spectrum as being suitable as a nancy maid, this was different to the sissy maid,  the nancy maid wore plain but smart uniforms and was there for genuine domestic work, I was beside myself with fear and excitement at this, sadly, what with life and work commitments I never got to visit Her before She passed away, such a sad loss, I remember Her fondly and with the greatest respect, Her magazine was also an inspiration too.

So time later two Ladies set up Servile Maids, to recruitment suitable males for feminised domestic service but it seems to be long defunct which is a pity because I am sure that there are many males, myself included, who have a genuine desire to be in domestic service to a Superior and not get into the **** scene.

The latter, serving a Superior is for my soul, money couldn't buy such satisfaction and devotion,,  also, I don't participate in lotteries because I have a good grasp of statistics, lotteries are designed to be lost, pie in the sky for the deluded and desperate.

Thanks for sharing. I remember Mrs. Silk.

I have my own happy memories, and, in addition, a few moments in my life that I wish I could live over, knowing what I now know.

On the web, my favorite was Patti and Ron's chastity page. When the CB-2000 was first introduced, they documented Ron's journey in chastity, which included wearing the device into a gym shower with an uninitiated male friend after a tennis game. A planned icebreaker.

Elise Sutton was amazing as well, she seems to be gone now.

I corresponded with a few pro dommes back in the 70s and 80s as well, they were mature then, I am certain they are gone now. It is a shame I didn't have more time or money then. I never really got to thank them for what they taught me. Incredibly, Mistress Mir in New Jersey seems to still be practicing. She was always at the highest level, a goddess in every way.

The internet provides a tremendous amount of support and community, a place to share thoughts and information, it would have helped immensely back in the 1970s, had it existed.

Today's embrace of BDSM and LGBT folks is a dream come true for someone of my age. It was tough establishing an identity as a sub/crossdresser back in the day when that was borderline illegal.

We also need to give a shoutout to the pioneers, people like Al Goldstein and Sandy York, publishers who weren't afraid to push boundaries in publications like Screw Magazine and Dominant Mystique. They allowed us to share ideas and meet up in an era well before cellphones and texting (or even fax machines or answering machines).

I hope someone saved a library of them, I wish I still had mine.

Mrs Silk was an awesome pioneer. She really understood how to train males and bring out their inner sissy side. Many of the professional mistress I met over the years admire her work. I often wonder if she was a bit younger and grow up with technology how much of impact she have on society. Imagine her having a TikTok or active twitter page, she be a hell of an influencer.

Found out she did have a twitter account.

An icon and a lady well ahead of her time.  She made the best use - actually cutting edge - of technology at the time.  She also had a massive influence on us as a couple. I went from being a daily panty wearer to becoming immersed in the sissy world. Even from afar she introduced both of us to the idea that a husband should be first and foremost a hard working maid.  We followed her guidance ever since.

There used to be a store in Camden, New Jersey called "Dream Dresser Boutique".  It was a store that sold exclusively womyn's apparel, leaning heavily toward leather and latex, lingerie, fetish wear, legwear, and drag queen/stripper outfits and accessories, including shoes. A few toys, but not many. This was in the 1980s/90s. It was located in what was then called Loehmann's Plaza. (Loehmann's was a womyn's clothing store chain that ceased operations in 2014). Dream Dresser opened a second store in Washington DC around 1986, closed the Camden store, and eventually vanished entirely.

They advertised in the fetish publications at the time as "crossdressers welcome". That seemed like a welcome mat to someone who wanted to go shopping without a chance of being caught by a friend or relative.

The first time I shopped there, I had no idea what to ask for or what I wanted. I was guided through the process by two of the most beautiful womyn I had ever met, or have met since. They were both in their 20s/30s, trim, with their long hair in ponytails, and identically dressed. Mid-thigh clingy skirts, shiny nylons, stiletto heel pumps, wispy thin silky blouses, with plenty of makeup, jewelry, and long nails. They strutted around the store with confidence, like ballerinas, and had an air of authority with every suggestion they made, and with all the advice they gave.

It was then that my random fantasies and desires gained a level of certainty and coherence. I was introduced to the true power that a womyn has - to speak not with a shout, but with a whisper, and to lead with intellect and not with condescending swagger, so unlike a man. I never got a chance to thank those two womyn for using their elegance, kindness, and love to help me find my true self. They made a nervous shopping experience a pleasure I often repeated.

Maybe a non sequitur, but perhaps of value none the less, since I never found an equivalent of Mrs. Silk, though I did meet Ms. Muriel Olive once and enjoyed the experience, though I was a bit too insecure then to truly embrace her guidance.

Mrs Silk was ahead of her time as commentators here have already said

its hard to even think back and remember life without the www but for those of us who had to wander through life 'alone' the resources and support were few and far between

I became aware of her and her daughter through the www like most people and had paid subscriptions to both her site and to Elise Suttons 'female superiority' pages

I recall having to buy a maids uniform from 'Miss by Elaine' which was called 'Maid to Measure' and came with a tiny lockable collar - Miss Elaine is still around I'm sure

I also count myself extremely fortunate to have been under the direction of the sublime Lady Sonia

All of these women are /were trailblazers and the type of women who would and should hold the very top positions within the Gynarchy
Respectfully yours,
