 Rather than merely posting the final standings, it would be more informative if the individual match scores between teams could be displayed. Of course, this would probably be embarrassing to some of the boys' teams at the bottom of the standings, but at the same time, it would eliminate any assumption that any of their 5 wins were against the girls. Making that point clear would probably elicit some red faces, but it's just a game, after all; albeit a game that popular opinion would expect the hapless males to win easily. I would think that the day after each match, the final scores are reported
in the local sports section, so maybe the paper feels the boys have been shamed enough. - Unless, of course, the paper has a decidedly female upper management. And this will invariably be the case as time goes on, so the boys better get used to eating humble pie.
